Arena Football League Commissioner David Baker ended his 12 years on the job by telling the league's Board of Directors that he was stepping down, two days before ArenaBowl XXII. According to Baker it was "time."
The 55-year-old's accomplishments during his 12-year tenure include the AFL Mission Statement and Fans’ Bill of Rights, the creation of the af2, the AFL's developmental league, which has 29 teams in secondary markets, and securing television agreements with ESPN, ABC, TNN, NBC, FSN, Comcast and OLN that all increased the AFL’s exposure and total viewership.
