Mike Sammond is a veteran sportscaster with several years experience in professional sports management. After working as vice president and general manager of the arena football and hockey team in Birmingham, AL for three years, he became part owner, president and GM of an arena football team in Columbus, GA for four seasons. He has also worked in corporate sales with the Atlanta Knights hockey team and with The Arena at Gwinnett Center. A former sports anchor at CNN Headline News, his extensive sports casting work includes over 20 years in the radio and TV industry including play-by-play in baseball, football and hockey. He has announced Atlanta Braves spring training games for the past two seasons, as well as been a broadcaster for the Gwinnett Braves. He also works as an anchor and announcer for the Olympic News Channel, most recently at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, and next year at the 2012 Summer Games in London.
